I'm a risk analyst by training.

I started to bake because I had developed an allergy to dairy products, chicken and chilli while I was schooling.

When I first found out about my allergies, I had no idea what it meant. Personally, I dislike the smell and taste of milk, so I wasn't too troubled by that. That was before I realised that all the desserts I loved actually contained dairy products. I knew so little about the food I was putting in my body!

Because food allergies aren't a well-understood medical problem in Singapore (it's getting better now but still awareness and options are still lacking compared to Western countries and Australia), I started to bake.

Before I knew it, I fell in love with baking.
